STAFF
Dr. Shawn Sette and Jennifer Sette
Dr. Sette graduated from Ohio State University, College of Veterinary Medicine in 1993. He began his professional career at the Kanawha Valley Animal Emergency Clinic in South Charleston during the summer of 1993. The Emergency Clinic provided very challenging cases and an exciting atmosphere. Dr. Sette found his niche in client interactions and education. Looking for an environment where he could get to know his clients and patients on a deeper level, Dr. Sette purchased Hurricane Animal Hospital in 1998 and began practice as a family veterinarian. Dr. Sette enjoys continuing his education and attends several veterinary meetings and conferences throughout the year. He has special interests in orthopedic surgery and allergy therapy. He also spends many hours developing programs that continually educate and update his staff. In his time away from work, Dr. Sette enjoys outdoor activities. He lives in Hurricane with his wife, Jennifer, their daughter Katelyn and son Matthew. His home is also shared with their 4-legged children named Spencer, Meadow, Yeti and Yowie.
Jennifer, our Hospital Manager, has 16 years experience in the veterinary field. She worked for a local veterinarian during her junior high and high school years, and continued there during the summers while attending college. In 1993, she met Dr. Sette and began assisting him at the Animal Emergency Clinic while finishing college. These jobs led to an office manager position with the Emergency Clinic. Jennifer now manages Hurricane Animal Hospital, and enjoys working with her husband on a daily basis. Jennifer enjoys participating in community events and educational programs. She teaches a 2 nd grade Junior Achievement Course at West Teays Elementary every year, and hopes to add more Junior Achievement to her schedule. She is dedicated to providing our clientele with the high quality service they deserve, and encourages you to update her with your ideas of how she can improve our hospital. She also enjoys horseback riding, camping, boating, and hiking. She has two dogs, two cats, and two beautiful children named Katelyn and Matthew.
